Courtesy Information and Studio Policies:

Register Early:
Although you may join our classes at any time throughout the semester, we encourage you to register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly.  Registering at least two weeks before classes are scheduled to begin also ensures that we will have your child's materials for you at your first class.  For registrations received less than two weeks prior to the first class, materials are not guaranteed to arrive by the first class.  Checks returned for insufficient funds will be subject to a $30 processing fee.

 Make-up Classes:
Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather.  We will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up day.  Students are allowed up to three make-ups per semester.  Any missed classes thereafter cannot be made up.  Be sure to call ahead to schedule the make-up class time.  If you miss a class, please remember to ask for any missed handouts at your next class.  Any materials, props, books or instruments not picked up by the last class of a semester will be forfeited.

Non-Enrolled Siblings:
Due to limited class sizes and unique class settings, we regret that Our Time classes are unable to accommodate non-enrolled siblings older than 7 months.  It is ideal for a parent to bring only the enrolled child to class in order to give full attention to that child and to fully participate in class.  Emergency exceptions are considered; please call us in advance for approval. 

Family Waiting Room for Imagine That! & Young Child families:
We kindly thank you for making use of our comfortable family waiting room during your child?s class.  This is especially important if you have younger siblings along, so as to keep the Kindermusik room filled with only the age-appropriate group of children.  Please be listening attentively for the "Mommies and Daddies" song to welcome you in for the last 10-15 minutes of class.  Younger (and older) siblings are welcome at this time.

Free Visits:
At certain times throughout each session, we are happy to schedule free visits in our classes for prospective families and friends of those families currently enrolled in class. Please call for availability.

Refunds:
Due to limited class sizes and spaces being reserved for individuals, all fees are non-refundable.  Please note that once you sign up for a class, we make plans to run this class (including incurring teaching expenses, location rental, instrument/prop purchases, etc.).  Please be aware of our "non-refundable" policy before you commit to signing up for a class.  However, if a class has to be cancelled by us due to enrollment not meeting the minimum number, and we cannot accomodate you into a 2nd or 3rd choice of class time, then we will send you a refund by check.  If you paid by credit card, your check refund will deduct a small credit card processing fee.  If you paid by check, you will receive a full refund.    

Toys, snacks, drinks and sippy cups:
We ask that you kindly refrain from having toys, snacks, drinks and sippy cups during class time.  Bottles and/or nursing infants are exceptions.

Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes:
The most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active but patient role model.  Your child may not follow the teacher at first, but he will follow you.  In fact, a child may attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class.  Do not be discouraged- what is most important is what the children do musically at home.  The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver both in class and at home are the keys to facilitating musical learning and growth. You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home materials.  Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child?s comfort and participation in the classroom.  Please remove your child's shoes and your own when entering the classroom.  Socks or bare feet are fine.  Come prepared to participate! You are a part of this class, and your child's model for joyful music making. Come dressed for movement! Grownups too! We will be up, down, on the floor, in the air; be comfortable, and ready to join in!  Cell phones OFF!! Notice the subtle emphasis? This is your time to focus on your child and share a special time together. Cell phones also distract the class- please shut them off before class begins.  Chat with other adults as you gather, as you leave, but not during class!  We need you as an active part of what we're doing!  Conversation during class disrupts the group and deprives your child of their partner.  Be an active music maker!  Have fun!!  You are your child's best role model for how to enjoy and be involved in music making. This is your class, too!

If you are a registered Kindermusik family and a NEW Kindermusik family signs up because of YOU, we will thank you by giving you a free instrument!  Be sure to tell your friends to put YOUR name on their registration forms!  Your friend must put your name on the comments or referral line on their registration form at the time of registering in order for you to qualify for this bonus.
